Advanced Pain Training in North London
Six advanced training opportunities will be offered under the auspices of The Pan-London Pain Training Advisory Group, on behalf of the Schools of Anaesthesia, at hospitals in North London for a period of up to 15 months commencing August 2012 and February 2013.
The closing date for applications is 1 June 2012
The interviews will be held on a date TBA
These posts are intended to meet the competencies for advanced training in pain medicine as outlined in the Royal College of Anaesthetists document "The CCT in Anaesthesia. Part IV: Higher & Advanced Training . Training and Assessment" (Pain Training: Appendix A-12). The posts are thus intended for trainees intending to apply for Consultant Anaesthetist posts with a commitment to pain medicine.
It is possible that the Training Programme at any particular hospital or rotation will fulfil the criteria for Higher Pain Training, should this be required.
The institutions at which these posts are based have been confirmed by the Faculty of Pain Medicine (Royal College of Anaesthetists) Regional Adviser (Dr Victor Mendis) as meeting the criteria for providing advanced training in pain medicine.
